I’m back! My CBD journey began on the 3rd August so today will mark my 30th capsule. I think this is a good opportunity to update you on my experience and thoughts so far.
I’m just going to refresh your memories on my previous blog before we dive in. So, the CBD I am currently using is Jacob Hooy 10ml daily capsules. I purchased these from Holland & Barrett during their famous Penny Sale so I managed to snag 120 capsules for £35. That may sound like a lot for a herbal supplement, but with the pain I experience, 30p a day was a price I was willing to pay to try something new.
You may remember me also mentioning in my introduction blog that I opted for capsules to avoid the taste of the CBD oil. While I’m sure the taste is greatly muted by the casing, you do still end up with a hint of it throughout the day. When you’re eating or if you burp (Even those little ones you breathe out of your nose) you do get a kind of herbal, almost menthol hint come through. I wouldn’t say that it puts me off at all, but it’s certainly something to be aware of. If you weren’t and you’re like me, you may think you’re egg sandwich is going to poison you! 😂
In the first few days of using these capsules I did feel that the stiffness in my joints was reduced. I had been taking all of my other medication for a while so I don’t think this was down to anything else I was using. I was, however, a bit more active and my pain already wasn’t as intense as it was or would be. This may have had an affect on my initial results. As the month went on my pain did increase so I feel as though I didn’t notice any extra relief from using the CBD oil. My joints became more stiff and movement was difficult. Overall because my pain has been so fluctuating, I don’t feel that I can give a definite answer on whether the capsules worked for me or not.
I think moving forwards I would like to up my dosage to 2 capsules per day to see if I can experience more noticeable effects. The packaging advises that this should be the maximum dosage taken so I feel ready to take it up a notch. Depending on how I cope with a higher dose, I may also move on to a higher strength CBD oil. I’m hoping I can continue to integrate this into my medication routine until I find what works best for me.
Hopefully over the next month or so my pain and symptoms will level out so I can see more clear results. Until then, I still believe that if you can try it, there is no harm in giving it a go. It could be just what you were looking for.
